A Blurb For Venker's "How To Choose A Husband"

We lived in a strictly gendered world. We relied on it for everything. And then the power went out of gender norms. Everything stopped working. We weren't prepared. Fear and confusion led to panic. The lucky ones made it out of the hedonistic cities. The government collapsed. Women took over, controlling their own fertility and stockpiling their own money. We still don't know why the power went out of gender norms. But we're hopeful that Suzanne Venker will come and lead the way.

With apologies to the showrunners of Revolution, which I love.

oh. I clicked on the link before coffee.... now I'm not sure what to do. Apparently I need to run and get the book to learn ^^

Not because "I'm the product of divorce" (assuming that refers to my parents being divorced), nor do I think "I deserve being married to Brad Pitt" (not sure on how to rationally explain the statement - reminds me of 'have you stopped beating your wife') but I'd admit "being open to living with a man" (shocker I know) and "having sex early in a relationship" (I'm guessing anything before a ring/6months of going out is early in this context)....

I'm still stockpiling my own money and not assuming my partner will pay for everything. Then again, the laws might change yet again and women won't be allowed to own money on their own. After all, it worked well (?) back in the dark ages, didn't it? (off to drink coffee and find a sense of humour in the bleak morning)

Maybe that link should have come with a warning, e.g. "may contain 1950's or even medieval wackaloon gender talk."

Maybe. I'll blame the Revolution like wording that made me press it without really thinking about it. (read, lucky it wasn't spam)

On that note, wth with the "preview for next season"? Showing a leeeeetle too much I think 😉
